ResMed Log

CPAP Therapy is our first choice and gold standard treatment recommendation for obstructive sleep apnea. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy is used to treat mild, moderate, and severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It is part of a bedside system consisting of a therapy machine, a breathing interface, and the ResMed myAir smartphone app.

How does it work? PAP Therapy utilizes a small bedside medical device that blows filtered room air at a pressure through a mask that fits over your nose, or mouth and nose, while you sleep. The air pressure expands and holds the airway open, eliminating snoring and airway obstruction, and correcting sleep apnea. PAP therapy often fully resolves even the most severe cases of obstructive sleep apnea.

We offer ResMed PAP Therapy devices as part of our primary services. You can learn more about PAP therapy on our CPAP Equipment & Supplies and Sleep Apnea pages. Visit ResMed's web site for an in depth look at their products.

Inspire Log

Inspire therapy is a treatment option for patients who are unable to use PAP therapy and have moderate to severe OSA. Inspire is a small implantable device activated nightly by the patient when they are ready for bed. While asleep, Inspire opens the patient’s airway, allowing them to breathe normally and sleep peacefully.

How does it work? The implantable pulse generator detects the patient’s breathing pattern and maintains an open airway with mild nerve stimulation. The physician is able to configure the stimulation settings using the external physician programmer. The patient sleep remote allows the patient to turn therapy on before they go to sleep and to turn therapy off when they wake up. This is designed for moderate to severe sleep apnea.

Oral Appliance Therapy

Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) is a treatment option for snoring and mild to moderate OSA. Alternatively known as Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD), this treatment is often considered when the patient is unable to utilize PAP therapy.

Oral Appliance Therapy.

How does it work? An oral appliance fits over your teeth like other orthodontic devices while you sleep and positions the lower jaw in a forward position to help keep your airway open preventing or reducing snoring and OSA. A dentist can help to determine if you are a candidate for OAT.
